This article explains how to install connectors on the Vault One platform.
Vault One is a hybrid software. This means that part of its functions works in the cloud and the other part in the company's infrastructure. Therefore, in order for the Vault One to function properly, it is necessary to install connectors. They will play three important roles:
- Serve as an access proxy;
- Record videos (available if contracted)
- Password backup
Connectors can be installed only by the platform administrator. If you are that person and need to install a new connector, follow the instructions below:
STEP 1 - REGISTRATION AND CONFIGURATION
Access administration menu. Then select Connectors, in the upper right corner, click on Add Connector:
A new page will open, add a connector name and an IP address, which can be private or public:
The Record Video feature is going to be available in case you have hired this service.
After checking this option, this connector will be able to record sessions data in video format. Make sure to set how much bandwidth you want available for that connector:
If you want this connector to become the default for accessing resources, then select Default:
Finally, click on save in the upper right corner of the screen:
STEP 2 - INSTALLING THE CONNECTOR
Now that the first part has already been completed, to work properly, the connector must be installed in a machine.
After completing the first step, you will be redirected to the page listing all connectors. Find the connector you just added and click on Actions and Install:
At this point, there are two options:
The first is to copy the command line and paste it into a Linux Machine's shell:
The second is to download the installation script and execute it in the Linux Machine and then, click on Close:
To verify whether or not the connector is working, search for the "Last seen" and "Version" information on the screen. If they appear on the screen, it means the connector has been installed and is working correctly:
