How to Configure FIDO2 Passkey Authentication

In this guide, you will learn how to configure FIDO2.

The new settings related to FIDO2 are located under Administration -> Settings -> Security.

The first part highlighted is the platform's default MFA options, adding that the MFA option with FIDO2 has been added. And the second part highlighted is the options related to FIDO2.

The new settings are:

Enable Passkey Authentication:

By default, this option allows you to log in using FIDO2 by providing your platform username before using the access key, without entering a password.

Allow Login Only By Passkey Only Without Inform Username or Email:

There is also an option to log in without first providing the platform username. If it is not possible to automatically locate the user associated with a particular key, you will be asked to enter it manually. Example below:

Restrict Passkeys to The Transports:

You can restrict the access methods when using FIDO2, allowing only the methods that are selected, such as:

  • USB

  • NFC

  • Bluetooth

  • Internal

  • Hybrid
