How to enable the password rotation on the VaultOne platform

This article will teach you how to enable the password rotation for a credential in your vault.

Requirements:

  • The credential should already be registered in your vault.

  • The credential should already be associated with a computer.

Steps to enable password rotation:

Navigate to “Passwords” and search for the desired credential. Enter the edit mode of that credential and click “Password Rotation”.

Navigate to the Credentials/Passwords menu and look for the desired credential to rotate. Enter the edition of this credential and click on the Password Rotation tab, then click on the Enabled check box, just below Use automatic password rotation for this credential:

After activation, the list of resources associated with this credential will be displayed. Select the resource on which this password will be rotated and save the changes.

With the password rotation enabled in the credential, we can proceed to the installation of the script in the selected computer. The script can be run in Windows (PowerShell) or Unix/Linux (Shell Script) environments.
