VaultOne is a hybrid software. This means that part of it works in the cloud and another part works in your company's infrastructure. For this to work, it is necessary to install the connectors that will perform three important functions:
Serve as an access proxy;
Record videos (if this functionality has been contracted);
Password backup;
Connectors can only be installed by your company's vault administrators. If you are an administrator and need to install a connector, follow the instructions below:
Note: In case of hybrid infrastructure (on-premise and in the cloud), the customer must provision a connector for each environment.
STEP 1 - REGISTER AND CONFIGURE
After logging in to the VaultOne platform with your company credentials, access the administration menu, as shown in the image. Within that menu, select connectors:
At the top right of the screen, click Add Connector:
On the newly opened tab, add the required information:
The Record Video function is available if you have purchased the "Premium" edition of the connector.
Select the Default option if you want this to be the main connector. Finally, click on ‘Save’ at the top right of the screen:
STEP 2 - INSTALLING THE CONNECTOR
The first step has already been completed, but your connector will still not work properly, you now need to INSTALL IT.
After saving, you will be redirected to the connectors board. Locate the connector you just registered and click on actions then install:
From that moment on, you have two options.
The first is to copy the data that is selected in the image and paste it on the Linux machine:
And the second is to download the installation script and run the script on the Linux machine prepared to be the connector. To finish, click to close:
To verify that it is working correctly, check if the information of software version and the last date it was accessed appears in the connectors menu:
If this information appears next to the connector you just installed, then it is already working and you have successfully completed the installation.
