How to Share a Credential with a User

In VaultOne, you can create credentials and share them with other users, who can manage, view the secret, see details of that credential, and connect.

See below how to share and set the permission level for each user with access to the credential.

First step: Edit the credential

Note: If you are using the old table, click the button next to +Add Credential to update to the new table.

Access the Credentials/Passwords menu and click on the credential name to access the settings screen. If you haven’t registered the credential in VaultOne, click Add Credential in the top right corner.

Second step: Add the user

In the new screen that opens, click on the Sharing Preferences tab. Now click on +Add user:

Permissions:

Available permissions are:

  • Manage: The user will be able to edit or share this credential with other users.

  • View Details: The user will be able to view the technical details of the credential.

  • View Secret: The user will be able to view the login information registered in the credential.

  • Connect: The user will be able to use the credential to connect to a resource.

And finally, save:
