You can also use the VNC protocol to access your machines in the VaultOne platform. Different from an SSH or RDP connection, where the connection is made without any additional configuration, to utilize this protocol, you need to configure the VNC server inside the machine that you make the access, basically it’s a configuration created outside of the VaultOne platform.
There are a bunch of models and versions of the VNC server, so configurations can differ, because this must be made outside of the VaultOne platform, we can’t have control over those configurations, in this article we are going to show only the requirements and some tips to stablish a connection using the VNC protocol through VaultOne.
The default VNC protocol defines only password-based authentication, basically, other types of authentications like certificates, keys and cryptography are not going to work.
There are other methods of authentication, but they are not standardized. The VaultOne platform supports only the default password-based authentication, as well as username and password authentication.
Other requirements are, in the registration of the server inside the VaultOne platform “computers > add computer > access protocol” you must check the “Disable Clipboard”
