It is possible to register resources using the hostname in VaultOne. Remember that this access will be done through the VaultOne connector installed within your infrastructure.

If you encounter an error screen when trying to access using the hostname, as in the example below, use the following step by step to correct this problem.

First validation:

- For this access to work, the connector will need to be able to resolve the hostname, to carry out this validation, use the command below.

ping (HOSTNAME)

Example of successful ping:

fffff.jpg

Second validation:

- When using the ping command, check if the hostname registered in VaultOne is complete. For example:

Full HOSTNAME: companyx.network.local

HOSTNAME registered in VaultOne: companyx

Using the full hostname makes a difference in the connection, because sometimes, despite the connector being able to resolve the hostname's nickname, the container may not be able to resolve the nickname, making it necessary to use the full hostname for the connection to work.
