VaultOne’s Web Shield feature (also known as Remote Browser Isolation) allows users to securely access websites through an isolated browser session. This adds an additional security layer by preventing the website from interacting directly with the user’s endpoint.
This guide explains how to add a website to VaultOne using Web Shield.
Requirements
Before adding a website with Web Shield, ensure that:
You have Administrator permissions in VaultOne.
The Web Shield feature is enabled in your VaultOne environment.
You have the website’s credentials (if access requires authentication).
Step 1 – Access the Websites Menu
Log in to your VaultOne account.
Navigate to Websites.
Click on + Add Website.
Step 2 – Fill in the Website Information
In the creation screen:
Enter the Website Name (e.g., “Internal Portal” or “Secure WebApp”).
Paste the URL of the website you want to access using Web Shield.
Click on Use Gateway.
Select the VaultOne Connector that you have installed and click on Web Shield.
(Optional) Add a description or tags to help identify the website later.
Step 3 – Fill in the Website credential
On the credential, click to +Add a credential.
Fill the credential details and click on Add.
Step 4 – Configure the Sharing Preferences
In the sharing preferences menu, you can configure the users and groups that will have access to this website and the permission that they will have for this website. Remember that you need to select the permission for the website and the credential.
Step 5 – Configure the Web Shield
In the Web Shield section, you can configure the options below:
Record Video – Enables video recording of the user session for auditing and monitoring purposes.
Disable File Transfer – Prevents the user from transferring files to or from the remote session (Download and Upload).
Disable Clipboard – Blocks copy and paste actions between the user’s device and the remote session.
Disable Browser Address Bar and Tabs – Restricts navigation by hiding the address bar and disabling additional tabs in the remote browser.
Block All URI, Except This Resource – Ensures the user can only access the specified website/resource, blocking all other URLs.
It's also possible to specify URLs that you allow or deny the access inside the remote browser.
Click Save to add the website.
Important: If a user is trying to access this website for authentication, but the process is not occurring automatically, refer to this help article for guidance on how to resolve the issue. The VaultOne platform accesses the website, but the login isn’t automatically made
All Set!
Your website is now configured with Web Shield.
Users with permissions can access it through a remote, isolated browser, enhancing security while maintaining usability.
